Columbus artist Ashley Pierce returns with a new body of mixed media works. In addition to her carved and painted wooden panels, she will be showing select ceramic work for the first time. First glances can be deceiving. Pierce's imagery may seem to be lighthearted scenes of animals and her signature human-like beings, but there is dark behind the light. She uses the figures to play out mini-dramas that represent different sides of her own personality and her own inner struggles. Pierce has been pushing herself to do some larger scale work while still retaining the intimacy and introspection she is known for.
