BILL MILLER “Dual Nature”
Opening reception: Friday, May 6 6-9pm
From the New York Times......BILL MILLER'S artwork can be appreciated on two levels. The first is its visual appeal -- original, colorful expressionistic portraits and landscapes. The second is that it just might evoke happy memories of Grandma's kitchen floor.
Mr. Miller has eschewed his art school training in painting for a more daring medium -- linoleum -- has created a new art form that is as retro as it is modern, as bold as it is classic. He scavenges through demolished buildings, sometimes even putting his life on the line, for someone's discarded floor that will eventually become part of the mosaiclike canon for which he is beginning to gain attention around the country.
