Janis Price was born in 1933 and is still actively painting in Newark, Ohio. Her memory paintings of rural Ohio have been displayed in shows from London to Tokyo and even on calendars and book covers. Despite her acclaim, every time someone buys a painting she is still surprised. "I just like to paint, and if somebody buys one, I'm just thrilled to pieces." In January of this year, Ohio First Lady Karen Kasich honored Janis Price as only the second featured Ohio artist at the Ohio Governor's Residence.
