LONNIE HOLLEY

"My People Shall Perish Because of the Lack of Knowledge", artist's reception Sat. Oct. 19,2013
show runs: Oct. 18-Nov. 28
For over 30 years Lonnie Holley has been regarded as one of the most important contemporary folk artists. In recent years it has become clear that Holley is so much more than that. An intense creative force and spiritual thinker, he has shown himself to be one of the preeminent contemporary assemblage sculptors across all genres. Holley is also an accomplished musician, in fact he recently had the CD release concert for his new project, "Just Before Music", at the Whitney Museum. He will be performing his music at the Wexner Center for the Arts on Oct. 18, the night before our opening reception.
