Morris Jackson and Amber Groome
Opening reception Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 6-9pm
MORRIS JACKSON and AMBER GROOME are two of Columbus, Ohio's favorite contemporary self-taught artists. Amber makes meticulously crafted dolls in polymer clay that tell stories of a woman's struggle with mental illness. Morris Jackson's pen and ink drawings are packed with so much detail that he has to use a technical drawing pen called a Rapidograph to get the tiny lines he wants. His drawings tell stories of loving, longing and just trying to understand a world that seems incomprehensible to his characters.
